Developer FAQ
Common questions before connecting an account.
Review product boundaries, authentication, pricing, exports, rate limits, privacy, and provider responsibilities before building.
API and product
Is dataz.md read-only?
Public tenant gateway routes accept GET requests only. Sending, editing, deleting, reacting, joining, moderation, setup/token, and other provider mutations are not public data routes.
How do I authenticate?
Create a tenant API key in the portal, then send it as Authorization: Bearer <key> or X-API-Key: <key>. See the authentication tutorial.
Where are the API contracts?
Use the interactive docs, static Discord and Telegram references, or the public Discord and Telegram OpenAPI files.
How is hosted VM pricing calculated?
New workspaces pay $19.50 per hosted VM per month. Each VM includes up to one Discord and one Telegram connection, so VM quantity is the larger of the two provider account counts. Existing workspaces retain their current account-slot pricing.
Where does dataz.md run?
Tenant runtimes use isolated, single-tenant Google Compute Engine infrastructure. Google Cloud maintains SOC 2 Type II reports and ISO/IEC 27001, 27017, 27018, and 27701 certifications for in-scope services. These reports and certifications apply to Google Cloud and its in-scope services; dataz.md is not independently claiming SOC 2 or ISO certification. See the Google Cloud compliance center.
What can I use during the free trial?
Each connected Discord or Telegram trial slot includes 500 returned messages and 100 other API reads for the whole 7-day trial. The portal and gateway quota headers show the remaining allowance; paid plans are unlimited.
Data and operations
Can I export messages?
Yes, for data the connected account is authorized to read. Start with the Discord or Telegram tutorial and JSONL examples.
How should I handle pagination and rate limits?
Use each endpoint's documented limit, before, and after parameters. On HTTP 429, wait for Retry-After before retrying.
Does API access permit AI or vector use?
Not automatically. Review current provider terms, content rights, consent, privacy, retention, deletion, and AI/ML restrictions for the specific use case. See AI/RAG guidance.
